Join ceramic artist Augustine Byrd for a hands-on pottery experience where you'll create your own functional travel coffee mug using hand-building techniques perfect for all skill levels. You'll work with warm-toned speckled clay to craft a handleless travel mug with a half-circle top and sipping spout, finished with "Mountain Fog" glaze by Penguin Pottery with approximately one-third of the clay left beautifully exposed for a modern, earthy aesthetic. All materials, tools, and instruction are included in this and your piece will be professionally fired and ready for pickup or shipped for an additional fee. No prior pottery experience needed, just bring your creativity and leave with a handcrafted mug you'll use every day.

Augustine Byrd began her ceramics journey in 2020 and has since become an award-winning artist, earning recognition in Texas for her work in ceramics and rodeo wax sculpture. A lifelong art enthusiast since age three, Augustine thrives on the discipline of mastering new creative techniques. Living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, she discovered her passion for hand-building functional pottery when traditional wheel throwing became challenging. Today, Augustine creates beautiful, usable pieces from her home in Beulah, Colorado, where she balances her artistic practice with renovating her property alongside her husband, child, and spirited dog.
